Education:
Janusz Czekaj received his secondary education at the Technical Secondary School of Economics in Miechów. In 1969, he began studies at the Faculty of Production Economics of the Higher School of Economics in Krakow, graduating in 1973 with an M.A. in economics. Then he completed a one-year professional internship in business practice. In 1974, he was employed as an assistant in the Organizational Techniques Workshop of the Institute of Organization and Management of the Higher School of Economics in Krakow. In 1975, he completed Pedagogical Studies at the University of Economics in Krakow.
In 1982, he defended his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Production Economics of the Kraków University of Economics. Esograms as a method of organizing construction projects – written under the supervision of prof. conv. Ph.D. Zbigniew Martyniak, awarded the Award of the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Technology.
In 1991, as part of the TEMPUS scholarship, he studied under the supervision of prof. Ph.D. Georg Schreöygg six-month research internship at FernUniversität Hagen.
In 2001, he obtained his habilitation thesis entitled Methods of information management in an enterprise, a habilitated doctor’s degree in the field of economic sciences, a discipline of management science, and in 2014, the academic title of professor of economic sciences.
His scientific achievements include over 230 publications, including 17 monographs and books, 12 scripts and textbooks, 108 chapters in monographs, 81 scientific articles, as well as over 70 conference papers, 160 reviews of scientific works (books, professor applications, habilitation theses). , doctoral programs) and 34 research programs (KBN grants and statutory grants). The unpublished achievements include 87 reports on scientific and research work and over 240 projects implemented for the benefit of economic practice. He supervised 7 PhDs and over 500 master’s and bachelor’s degrees.

In the period from 2002 to 2019, he was the head of the Department of Organization and Management Methods, and in the years 2002-2005, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management at the Kraków University of Economics. Vice-Rector for Organization and Development of the Krakow University of Economics for the 2016-2020 term. Editor-in-chief of the monthly “Przegląd Organisation” (January-July 2013), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the KNOiZ PAN quarterly “Organization and Management” (2012-2015), member of the Committee for Organization and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2008-2019. He is currently employed as a professor at the Department of Organization and Management Methods at the Krakow University of Economics.

For his scientific and teaching activities to date, he was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit (1990), the Gold Cross of Merit (2004) and the Medal of the National Education Commission (2000). He was also awarded many times with awards from the Rector of the Krakow University of Economics.
