About the Department

Department of Psychology and Didactics

The Department of Psychology and Didactics was established in 2007 as a result of the reorganisation of the former Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, which had operated since 1991 as a didactic and consultative unit, and in 1959-1990 as the Interdepartmental Pedagogical Study.
The Department conducts interdisciplinary teaching and research activities, which include two streams of scientific interests of the Department’s staff. The first focuses on psychology and psychosocial aspects of human functioning in the areas of human resources management, financial markets, accounting and business. The second concerns university didactics, the quality of academic education and training teachers of economic subjects.
Department`s research activity includes topics in the application of psychology to the management of people in organisations and the issue of subjectivity and human attitudes in professional relationships.
The Department’s staff teach undergraduate, master’s, postgraduate and doctoral courses in most of the faculties offered at the University.
Until 2020, the Department conducted the Study of Pedagogy, and until 2021 the Study of Academic Didactics Improvement.
