Research interests

Early modern and 19th century art, artistic historiography, history of tourism and recreation, protection of cultural property and landscape, the role of cultural heritage in tourism.

Scientific activity
  • Author and co-author of over 80 scientific publications including five independent monographs (among others Castles in the Krakow-Częstochowa Upland. Problems with conservation and accessible to tourists, Proksenia, Kraków 2014; Old Russian architecture in Giacomo Quarenghi’s watercolours, Polish Institute of World Art Studies and Tako Publishing House, Warsaw – Toruń 2015; Tourist guidebooks and their significance for the popularization of the findings in the sphere of Polish art historiography until the end of the 19th century, Księgarnia Akademicka, Kraków 2021);
  • Principal investigator of an independent National Science Center grant (OPUS 13, project 2017/25/B/HS3/00041, 2018–2021);
  • Head of four individual grants for young scientists and participants of doctoral studies, financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2013–2017);
  • Team member in eight projects conducted by the Department of Tourism as part of statutory research (2009–2017);
  • Co-implementer of the project Management of cultural and natural heritage of the Polish-Slovak borderland co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the INTERREG V-A Poland-Slovakia Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020;
  • Member of the Association of Art Historians;
  • Member of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies;
  • Winner of a scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists (2016);
  • Reviewer in many scientific journal, including Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, Rocznik Biblioteki Naukowej PAU i PAN, Studia Polonijne, Turyzm, Studia i Materiały Lubelskie, Folia Turistica, Prądnik. Prace i Materiały Muzeum im. Prof. Władysława Szafera; Reviewer of scientific projects submitted to the National Science.
