On Wednesday, January 22, first-year students of the International Management program had the opportunity to attend a guest lecture on CSR strategy delivered by Dr. Magdalena Kandefer-Kańtoch, Press Spokesperson for BP in Poland. The meeting took place as part of the course “CSR and Social Economy.”
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a key component of modern business strategy. It gives companies the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to solving social issues and supporting local communities in the environments in which they operate. While approaches to implementing CSR strategies may vary, the ultimate goal remains the same – to provide support. CSR is also a valuable tool for building positive relationships with stakeholders.
BP engages in social initiatives wherever it operates. In Poland, its long-term community partners include organizations such as the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH), the Wiosna Association, TOPR (Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue), R2, and the Fields of Hope Foundation.
Meetings with business practitioners play a crucial role in shaping future business leaders. They offer valuable insight, hands-on knowledge, and real-world context. We are proud that our students actively participate in such lectures, ask thoughtful questions, and share their reflections. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Magdalena Kandefer-Kańtoch for accepting our invitation, delivering an inspiring lecture, and engaging in a meaningful discussion.
It is also worth mentioning that the Department of International Management and Logistics has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with BP Poland and has always been able to count on the company’s support – both in terms of expertise and collaboration – particularly during departmental events.
This was the final guest lecture of the semester. We look forward to more in the spring.
In the meantime, best of luck during the exam session!
