The Department of Organizational Behavior conducts scientific research in the broadly understood field of organizational behavior, with a particular focus on contemporary trends and conditions in management. The research activities of the Department’s staff primarily concentrate on modern concepts of organization and management, including the learning organization, knowledge management, intellectual capital management, and human capital management. Other areas of interest include interpersonal communication, shaping organizational culture, organizational climate, value systems and attitudes of knowledge workers, managerial competencies and behaviors of knowledge workers, change implementation, shaping the organization’s social potential, work humanization and organizational anti-resources, organizational dysfunctions, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the functioning of start-ups. Recently, the research scope has been expanded to include the application of gamification in organizations.
The Department’s teaching offer includes courses such as Organizational Behavior, Knowledge-Based Management, Knowledge Management, Communication in Organizations, Communication Techniques in Business Organizations, Management and Intercultural Communication, Work Virtualization – Freelancers and Telework, Production Management, Establishing and Running a Business, Managerial Etiquette, and many others.
The Department’s staff provide substantive supervision for the Business Innovation program.
Currently, the Department of Organizational Behavior employs ten academic teachers and one administrative staff member.
