Justyna Dąbrowska holds a PhD in Business and Management from Manchester Business School in the UK. She works as an assistant professor in the Department of Commerce and Market Institutions, Institute of Management, College of Management and Quality Sciences. Her research interests include performance measurement systems, the concept of co-management, regional innovation systems and the impact of technologies on the development of trade, marketing and merchandising activities.
Prior to her current position, dr Dąbrowska worked as Head of Innovation at Manchester Science Park within the University of Manchester. She ran Manchester International Innovation Centre and was responsible for projects at regional and international level to foster collaboration with stakeholders with the aim to support innovation and attract inward investment to the region.
Prior to taking up the post at MSP, dr Dąbrowska worked for Innova SpA Technology Transfer and Valorisation in Rome, Italy. She was involved in the EU policy formulation process in five Newly Associated Countries (NAC) and the assessment of initiatives supporting the growth of regional innovation systems.
In the past, dr Dąbrowska has also worked as an independent consultant for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, International Association of Science Parks, the United Kingdom Science Park Association, and other organisations from the public or private sectors in Europe and beyond. She is also a member of the Advisory Board at the Science Park Graz in Austria.
She spoke at many international conferences across the world including the USA, Brazil, the UK, Denmark, Poland, France, Estonia, Lithuania, Italy, Sweden, Germany and Russia. She is fluent in English, French and Polish. She can also communicate in Italian.
She has always enjoyed travelling and experiencing new cultures. As a high school student, she went to France on a scholarship, where she graduated and later studied. She obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Angers, France. She has Polish and British citizenship.
