Marketing and market communication students organize a charity event for the Single Mother’s Home in Krakow
The upcoming Christmas season is a time when we especially want to show support and solidarity with those who need it most. Therefore, we cordially invite you to participate in the collection of donations, so that this Christmas they too can feel the warmth, joy and magical atmosphere of this special time. Therefore, Marketing and Market Communication students under the supervision of MA Maria Bajak from the Department of Marketing are organizing a charity action “UEK: We have Christmas!”. – a collection for the charges of the Cardinal Karol Wojtyla Single Mother’s Home in Krakow.
This unique place, located at 39 Przybyszewskiego Street, has been giving support and shelter to pregnant women and mothers with children in difficult life situations since 1978. Its history dates back to the time of Cardinal Karol Wojtyla, who, even before he became Pope, decided to purchase the building to create a home there full of security and hope. Today it is the only such home in Krakow. Since 2022 it has borne the name of its founder, and on a daily basis it is cared for by the Family Companionship Foundation and the Nazareth Sisters. A window of life was also established there in 2006, which has helped save many newborns so far.
Collection at the University of Economics in Krakow
There are currently 6 moms and 7 children in DSM – one over a year old, 6 babies – and another baby is on the way. The charity campaign is accompanied by a collection that runs from 02/12/2024 to 08/12/2024, and donations can be placed in the basket on the first floor of Pavilion C. On behalf of the organizers, we cordially invite you to take part in this important initiative. We will be grateful for any gesture of support.

- Other surprises
We also encourage you to bring universal and practical gifts other than those mentioned. Every mother and child are different, but a warm blanket or a supply of diapers will certainly not go to waste. Let our common concern for those in distress be an expression of our solidarity and willingness to do good. Together we can make this year’s holidays full of joy and hope for the charges of the Single Mother’s Home!
A visit to the Single Mother’s Home
In addition, students are preparing for a visit to the Cardinal Karol Wojtyla Single Mother’s Home in Krakow by preparing gifts for the moms and children. They spent one of the exercises in the Social Marketing course creating unique Christmas baubles for the Moms and Children of the Single Mother’s Home in Krakow. There was a lot of creativity and smiles – all to give some joy this Christmas. Each bauble that the students prepared is not only a beautiful decoration, but also a gesture of support and warmth. It’s a way to show that they are not alone – we are with them at this special time.
Students under the supervision of Maria Bajak, M.A., will soon visit the Single Mother’s Home to personally deliver gifts and organize a special holiday day for mothers and their children. The program includes:
- Handing over Christmas gifts for moms and their little ones.
- A beauty workshop for moms, which will be conducted by a professional beautician. It will be a moment of relaxation and care for our guests.
- Gingerbread decorating, during which both moms and children will be able to create Christmas baked goods together.
We firmly believe that this will be a magical time that will bring many wonderful memories to the participants of the event. Therefore, we once again encourage you to join our initiative.
