Tomorrow – October 15, 2025, in the Main Auditorium of the Kielce University of Technology, we will meet Dr Monika Knefel – Assistant Professor at the Department of Labor Resource Management, Cracow University of Economics, and an expert in smart specializations, innovation, and the sustainable use of natural resources in health tourism.
Dr Monika Knefel is the Founder of the European Institute for Smart Specialization Research and the Co-founder and President of the Chamber of Commerce “Circle of Health Tourism.” She also worked as an Operational Expert at the National Centre for Research and Development, where she coordinated projects related to resource-efficient use of small retention water systems.
Her scientific and implementation activities bridge the worlds of academia and business, and the results of her work are recognized both in Poland and abroad.
🏆 Among Dr Monika Knefel’s numerous distinctions are:
• Award of the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology (2018) for an outstanding doctoral dissertation,
• Tourism Trends Awards – Person of the Year in the Tourism Industry (2019),
• Special Award of the Rector of the Kielce University of Technology and the Silver Medal IWIS (2021),
• Innovation Leader 2023 in the category Innovation Manager (INTARG),
• Świętokrzyski Creator of Development 2024 in the Science and Business category for research on the Sulfur Reduction Diet (SDR).
During her presentation titled “Blue Deal in Practice – How to Protect Water Resources in the Era of Climate Crisis,” Dr Monika Knefel will discuss the importance of responsible water management and the implementation of solutions aligned with the principles of sustainable development. 🌍
