Justyna Światowiec Szczepańska Profesor UEK

Dr Habil. Justyna Światowiec-Szczepańska, Associate Professor

Professor at the Krakow University of Economics, habilitated doctor of economic sciences in the field of management and quality sciences. Graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the Cracow University of Economics, specializing in International Economic Relations. She completed an international internship under the patronage of the Association for International Practical Training at MELEX USA Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. She currently works at the Department of Strategic Analysis at the Krakow University of Economics. From 1995 to 2007, she was employed at the Cracow University of Economics in the Department of Trade and Market Institutions. From 2007 to 2024, she worked at the Poznań University of Economics, holding various positions, including professor in the Department of Strategic Management, Department of Logistics and Transport, and Department of International Finance.

She specializes in strategic management, including the theory of competitive advantage and economic rent, strategic cooperation and business networks, strategic risk, and managerial decision-making theory. She is the author of over 130 academic publications, including monographs: “Partnership Relations in the Business Market” (2006), “Risk of Strategic Partnership in Enterprises: A Model Approach” (2013), and “Corporate Networks of Listed Companies in Poland: An Analysis of Relational Resources in a Structural Perspective” (2018). She has published articles in internationally recognized scientific journals and delivered numerous presentations at recurring international conferences (AIB, EIBA, EURAM, IMP). Her research employs a wide range of analytical methods, both quantitative, such as SEM, HLM, and SNA, and qualitative, such as case studies and fsQSA. She was among the first in Poland to apply structural equation modeling in management (“Modeling Long-Term Partnership Relations between Suppliers and Buyers in the Industrial Goods Market,” 2003).

She has received numerous awards, including those from the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Rector of the Cracow University of Economics, and the Rector of the Poznań University of Economics, for scientific and organizational achievements. She is actively involved in the organizational life of the university, serving, among others, as the Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Learning Objectives at the Poznań University of Economics, Chair of the University Team for Learning Objectives, and member of the University Commission for International Accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS-BSIS IMACT). She was the head of postgraduate programs at the Poznań University of Economics: Culture Manager and e-Commerce. She has extensive experience in managing research projects and collaborates with international research institutions.

She is a member of international academic associations: the Strategic Management Society, the Academy of International Business, and the Industrial Marketing and Purchasing Group. She has led or participated in several research projects funded by KBN, and later by NCN, NCBiR, NAWA, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
