Świętokrzyski Development Creator Award in the Science and Business Category

We are pleased to inform you that the Research Team of Fontia Sp zoo, led by Dr. Monika Knefel, Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Resource Management, has been awarded the prestigious Świętokrzyski Development Creator Award in the Science and Business category! The award was granted for an innovative research project on the therapeutic use of sulfur water in weight reduction. As part of the research and development activities, an innovative health tourism product, “SDR – Sulfur Dietary Reduction,” has been developed and introduced to the market.

Our colleague initiated the research and served as the Research Manager. Within the project, she and the Research Team managed studies conducted on a group of 150 individuals with varying BMI levels. The research resulted in two inventions: in the area of masking the smell and taste of sulfur water, and in the utilization of krenotherapy in regulating the metabolism process, as well as a trademark. The research was conducted at the BRISTOL **** ART&MEDICAL SPA Hotel in Busko-Zdrój, where therapy is available.

This project opens up entirely new perspectives in the field of healthy and conscious weight loss, utilizing the natural therapeutic properties of sulfur waters to support the weight reduction process. It has been proven that drinking sulfur water improves metabolism, lowers blood cholesterol levels, and enhances the body’s mineralization, thus improving the functioning of various bodily processes and consequently, overall health.

The project’s outcomes also align with the principles of sustainable development, as the consumption of valuable sulfur water resources has been reduced by 99.95% (from 200L during baths to 50ml per serving), and the challenging issue of water disposal after balneological treatments has been resolved.

The Świętokrzyski Development Creator Award not only confirms the scientific value of this project but also its potential to bring about real changes in the fields of health and innovation management. We are proud of our employee’s achievements and delighted that our university can be part of such innovative and inspiring endeavors. Congratulations from the bottom of our hearts!
